Gamesa says it has completed the construction and development of Enel Green Power's 74 MW Bii Nee Stipa II wind farm in the Mexican state of Oaxaca.

The wind farm, which features Gamesa's G80-2 MW turbines, is located in the isthmus of Tehuantepec, Mexico. According to Gamesa, Tehuantepec has a capacity factor of nearly 40%, which means that wind turbines could produce more than 250 million kWh per year of energy.

As a wind developer, Gamesa has developed, built and commissioned more than 100 MW of installed capacity in Mexico, and has another 70 MW at varying stages of development, Gamesa adds.

As of March, the company has installed more than 540 MW in Latino American countries, such as Mexico, Honduras, Costa Rica and Venezuela. Gamesa says turbine sales in this region accounted for the 30% of the total MW sold by the company.
