Turbine manufacturer Nordex has signed a second contract with Norwegian developer Midtfjellet Vindkraft AS (MVAS) for the delivery and installation of 23 wind turbines for the second phase of the Midtfjellet wind farm in Norway.

Nordex says the wind farm, which is being built on the island of Stord, will become one of the largest wind projects in Norway upon completion. With civil work in the final stages, Nordex says turbine deliveries for phase I will begin later this month.

Phase II deliveries will begin mid-March 2013, according to Nordex.

The manufacturer notes that in order to maximize the energy yield, the project will feature a mixture of Nordex 2.5 MW turbines with rotor diameters of 90 and 100 meters. Both agreements include five-year premium service contracts with the option for an additional 10 years.
